Environmental Purchasing Commitment

Sydenhams have been keen to promote their timber environmental commitment for many years, buying materials from recognised agents and mills who ensure the safe management of their forests, and a programme of re-forestation.

At Sydenhams, we source an ever increasing % of our timber and timber based products from suppliers who demonstrate their commitment by running a Chain of Custody (C.O.C.) system. This is either run by FSC® certified products available on request (Forest Stewardship Council® - FSC®-C110484) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), which promote sustainable and well managed forests, traceability of the product, while prohibiting the conversion of forests into other habitats.

To this end we have gained certification Chain of Custody at our Bristol (Sydenhams Plywood & Panel Products), Glastonbury, Swindon and Wickham branches and below are our certificates.

 

Sydenhams is committed to the responsible procurement of all timber products. We work closely with all of our suppliers to ensure that materials within our supply chain have been correctly and legally sourced. 

We also have UKCA marking for our visual stress graders / several softwood machined products / truss rafters / easi-joists.
